Harrison named travel buyer of the year

Jeannette Harrison of the University of Nottingham, a member of the Public Sector Travel editorial advisory board, has been named travel buyer of the year at the 2012 Business Travel Awards. Harrison was the unanimous choice of the judging panel for her outstanding work in a challenging sector and was chosen ahead of four buyers from private companies including B&Q and PwC. Harrison has brought in American Express Business Travel, Concur and AirPlus to help manage the University’s £9m travel spend.
Micros Travel, which powers the Redfern tool, picked up the award for best booking tool from a packed field that also featured Amadeus, Concur, GetThere and thetrainline.com.
